The wonderful new skiff build is progressing well and each section has been asked to submit two possible names from Irish Mythology for the new skiff.

Names (and any supporting background information) to be emailed to Group Leader, Feargus Barry, by Thurs 30th June.

Many thanks to all the parents and scouts who took part in fundraising in recent years to make this fantastic new skiff a possibility for our scouts – perfect as an important part of our Ceiliúradh Caoga Bliain. Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir!

Gear list:

• Neckerchief
• Full Uniform (including Duck)
• Hiking boots
• Rain gear (top and bottoms)
• Adequate rucksack to carry all gear
• Sleeping bag
• Ground Mat
• Bivvy bag
• Water bottle (1 Litre)
• Warm clothing (hat, gloves, scarf, fleece)
• very old Clothes for Commando Course
• Plastic bags for wet/dirty clothes
• Buoyancy aid
• Boating gear – see below
• Sun cream – you never know !!
• Insect repellant
• Adequate clothing for 3 night stay
• Towel
• Tea towel
• Wash bag

• No MOBILE PHONES (they will be confiscated)

• Day Bag (small School Bag) to carry rain gear, some clothing and food on hike.

Boat Gear: 50N Buoyancy Aid, Swimsuit, T-shirt, Shorts, proper footwear (not flip flops), Cag if Gasóg has one.

15ft boats arrived last night, They are currently off site. There is some work to be done to fit rudders so they won’t be going to the den for about 2 weeks at least.

Lough Lene and Lough Arrow, we have camped on both on more than one occasion.
