Many thanks to Skipper Brian Welsh for kindly bringing the Eriu cubs out on New Moon for a great day sail.
We initially headed south towards Greystones, but just as we were tacking in to Greystones harbour for lunch, the Coast Guard broadcast a gale warning and we decided to stay safe and head instead to the shelter of the Liffey and Poolbeg Yacht Club where we enjoyed a second “lunch” before Skipper taught the cubs all the main parts of a cruising yacht from bow to stern.
The cubs enjoyed a little excitement as we went up and down some lovely waves in a small squall as we headed back to Dun Laoghaire where we left New Moon on the mooring in glorious sunshine.
