Membership of 8ú Calafort is open to all regardless of race, creed, or fluency in the Irish language. Our resources are limited however (mainly the time of volunteer leaders and coordinators) and the growing popularity of scouting in general and 8ú Calafort in particular means the group is forced to operate a waiting list system for new entrants to most sections.

The Group maintains separate waiting lists for Cubs and Scouts. Demand is high and the number of places each year is low, particularly for Cubs. Unfortunately, each year there are applicants that do not receive an offer of a place.

At present there are waiting lists for Cubs but please do contact us if you are interested. In particular we need parents and guardians to volunteer each year to help plan and run Cub events, and we will prioritise applications for their Cubs.
